Responsiblities
# Develops and implements rehabilitative programs that restore or significantly improve the patient's level of functioning independence, and quality of life.
# Selects rehabilitative activities suited to patients' level of deficit, cognitive abilities, age and baseline abilities & needs.
# Establishes treatment priorities and sets short term and long term goals.
# Assesses potential barriers to learning, necessary adaptations and patient learning preferences in order to ensure that the rehabilitative treatment program is effective.
# Ensure that treatment goals are appropriate to patient's current needs.
# Regularly evaluates the patient's functional status and adjusts treatment plan accordingly.
# Maintains complete documentation of patients' evaluations, treatment, progress, and discharge status.
Requirements
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology and 9 months of experience is required. New York State licensure or satisfactory completion of CEY with license pending is also required. The ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing is required. New Graduates are Welcome!
