Responsibilities
To perform emergency mental health evaluations, to make emergency interventions and act as a patient advocate in conjunction with Psychiatrist on Call, ED Physicians, and ED Nursing Staff. The PAO plays a pivotal role in coordinating emergency care and disposition involving a wide variety of community services.
Education and Experience
BS Degree in Mental Health specialty required, an MSW/MS Degree preferred. 1-3 years of previous work experience required in psychiatry, plus 6-10 hours of supervised work orientation with an experience Psychiatric Assignment Officer.
