General Purpose
The Information Analyst will assist in implementing ongoing pilot research projects in the Center for the Study and Prevention of Suicide (CSPS) focused on the use of social media technology to prevent suicide among lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender adolescents and young adults. The Information Analyst will provide direct research support to the Principal Investigator and collaborators for related projects in the CSPS.
Summary
Programs and maintains the online survey website and other data collection interfaces. Responsible for programming and monitoring the survey database, access log, and error log files, and for completing the scheduled periodic back-up of all website and database files. Responsible for monitoring data entry and data analysis and assisting with preparation of manuscripts for publication as well as presentations. May assist in the recruitment of prospective research study participants; score and code survey responses, enter data, compile basic descriptive statistics, and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree with major course work in Computer Science, Mathematics, Informatics, or health-related field; experience working with adolescents and young adults. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills needed. Proficiency with computers, including Python programming, statistical programming and analysis using R, Objective-C programming for iPhone OS, and network analysis using Pajek or related software.
